Federal Level
House of Representatives
As mandated by the Constitution, all positions within the U.S. House of Representatives are up for election every two years. Mississippi has four representatives who serve in the House. Each of these races is competitive this year.
Senate
There are no U.S. Senate seats up for election this year in Mississippi. U.S. Senators serve terms of six years.
State Level
House of Representatives
There is only one election for the Mississippi Legislature this October and that is a special nonpartisan election for the Mississippi House of Representatives District 37 position. There are two candidates running to replace this seat previously held by Rep. Lynn Wright who died in June of 2022. District 37 covers portions of Lowndes, Monroe, Clay, and Oktibbeha counties.

State Appellate Court – Justices
Four of the five state appellate court districts have nonpartisan openings this year in Mississippi (Districts 1, 3, 4, and 5). Only District 4 is competitive.
Circuit Court Judges
Mississippi has 22 circuit court districts. While most of these trial court judge elections are not competitive, several are vigorously contested this year including 16-1, 16-3, and 19-3 to name a few.
Chancery Court Judges
Mississippi has 20 chancery court districts. Most are not nonpartisan elections are competitive this cycle but several are.
